Breeding Goals
At Catalyst we focus on producing sound, stable, healthy puppies with a focus on performace. Our puppies will fit best in active and sport homes, if you are looking for a lower activity dog, please reach out and we can put you in touch with other reputable breeders
Form, Function, and Trainability
We focus on producing Pembroke Welsh Corgis that meet the AKC standard and can perform at high levels in a variety of performance events. Dogs with proper structure are less likely to sustain injuries and are better able to do the jobs they were bred for. We focus on producing drivey, bidable, highly trainable dogs that excel across a variety of sports and look pretty doing it. Our goal is to use stud dogs that have proven themselves in the breed ring, in sports, and have produced offspring that align with our performance goals.
Prioritizing Health
We only breed dogs that have passed their health clearances and request that our puppy buyers also do health testing on their puppies so we can use this information to make decisions about the future. We also raise our puppies in a low chemical household using science based limited vaccine protocols. We believe in using as few interventions as needed to keep our puppies (and adults!) as happy and healthy as we can. We don't use lawn chemicals on our property and vaccinate our puppies according to a nomnograph meaning a single, well timed, vaccination is often enough to protect your puppy for most of their life.
Raising Well Rounded Puppies
We raise our dogs using scientifically supported methods to produce well rounded, balanced dogs that have been exposed to a variety of people, animals, and experiences. We also introduce a variety of scents, surfaces, and sounds to our puppies so they're ready for new environments.
Matching People to Puppies
We ask to you fill out an extensive questionnaire to us the best chance to match a puppy to your lifestyle and training goals. Expect a lot of conversations and questions so that we can help determine if we might have a match for you. Please answer honestly. We won't discriminate against buyers for working full time, renting, or having an unfenced yard. But it is important for us to understand your lifestyle and goals with your puppy to best match you.
